Clad in just a diaper, Nestled in his father’s lap, A brand-new baby’s by the river, Deep into a nap. I think he needs a blanket Since the bench is in the shade, But his parents seem relaxed With the decision they have made. I’d guess that not a week ago, That newborn babe was curled In the cozy womb, yet now he’s here, A member of the world.

So gorgeously penned; but I would be thinking "cover that baby up from the sun!"

The baby is feeling Daddy’s warmth, but it wouldn’t hurt to be prepared with a blanket or more clothing. It is hard not to give advice to new parents who might take offense. There is nothing more precious than a new born baby, that includes all species. I was moved by your words Ilene. Beautifully expressed. Blessings xxoo

A week-old infant not only needs a blanket, but I'm thinking socks would be appropriate, and perhaps a light hat. Our mothering instincts go into high gear, and we have to bite our tongues. Thanks, Ilene.

Wonderful, Ilene. Doesn't a scene like that always make you wonder what that child's future will be? It does me. And, I wish for them all the best in life, hoping their life will be as good as mine has been (overall).

What a transition, from cozy womb to river insects in the air! It may need more than a blanket! Enjoyed, Ilene! Aloha!
