Notes About The Poem

Listen to poem:

The New Month

Rumi Verse: "When you feel you cannot even bear one more minute, NEVER GIVE UP! Because it is the time and place that the course will divert!"
                      ________________________________

Last month, a lot inured downhill
with the harbinger of a fresh one,
no denying how furtive time is
yet, it gambols at a peculiar pace
were you hoping to learn of kismet?
Is that a glum expression?
supple in the shape of teardrops,
dreadful are the sobs of my soul.

Nothing should be identical
this is a fugacious future
another month has started
since this world endures spinning
proceed in earnest
akin to moons and suns
assured by the sight of tides
evocative of opulent ideals,
still, I will acquire backup.

Update often, with no delay,
and refine to improve
a depiction of one's existence,
a month elapsed with its anguish,
anger and suffering from all sides,
when will sorrow vanish?

I shed vanity of that era,
conquering adversity, I stand tall,
a vast, whirling ivory sea—that's me
swelling and edema hit me in waves,
jubilation, and seasonal bounty
plethora of blessings,
tranquility, support, and freedom
healing, atonement,
rise above, deepen your affection
a successful, reasonable life.

We are made of dualities.. and we strive and aspire to always "stand tall" and let the brave heart have the upper hand and weather Life with an updated refined soul.. Your free verse has displayed so admirable parts of who you are as a human soul imbued with richness and humility.. aware of the huge weight of the dreadful side of life and the same time enlightened and empowered enough to rise above.. Dear Lasaad, you never fail your avid reader! You ever amaze with your stunning poetry! I so much liked and enjoyed your free verse! Congratulations on your 1st placement in the contest! An honour well deserved.. God bless you. My best regards.

Dear friend Sotto. When you write, you talk, you express so many feelings that make us stop, breath and think for a moment. That's what poetry is...leaving your heart flying away for the others to enjoy the flight. Thank you for sharing. Blessingsxxx

You write free verse so well too dr sotto, I absolutely love this the depth and flow of your lines resonates and hits home and can feel the sincerity of your emotions depicted in such eloquence. I especially felt the opening lines as well as “ akin to moons and suns assured by the sight of tides evocative of opulent ideals, still, I will acquire backup.“ so much strength in your lines! And an introspective touch too in every word woven! Pleasure reading your work always. Sending you light

A strong presentation of the will of man, my friend. Your words flowed smoothly as I read this poem. I like the last two words best, "reasonable life." That's all I long for in the world of today, reasonable life. Thanks for sharing your insightful words with us. Live long and live strong. Bill

Another great Rumi quote.. Your poem beautifully captures the transient nature of time and the inevitable changes that come with each passing month. The language is evocative, and the emotions are vividly portrayed.. It skilfully navigates through a spectrum of emotions – from anguish, anger, and suffering to jubilation, seasonal bounty, and blessings. The contrast creates a dynamic and emotionally resonant piece... nicely done my friend..
