The Never-Ending Hunt.

A pulsating crimson dusk that settled heavy one year ago
Through the valley cleaved within my skyline
Winging down was that slyly cunning Egret
Never to outrun that cry shining in her eyes

Her smoky copper silhouette shaded by moonlight
Tasting the expectation upon her silver tongue
As she waits upon a sky-mountain for her aim
Ever resting within the terminator between night and day

Yet as the hours dizzied by and the days became uncountable
Lost within that labyrinth of eternal night
My voice carried earthward “The key or death…grant me peace”
Calling winds hammer away the miasma with a single blow

Alas the burning gold of the Oak leaves stacking heaven high
Garnering the openness of space to scatter and flit
The winds of the sun eternally gust its stifling bronzed winds
That keeps us bonded…separated as one
