The Mouse is Back in the House

No longer silent and small
the gluttony has taken its toll
heavier and slower than before
we hear the pitter patter of his feat
everyone watches as he steals the cheese
caught red handed he plays the fool
moi?
Clickity Clack the mouse does go
attention seeking, like the orange old troll
all the old ladies sitting in the gallery
having a good laugh
at his expense
now you know the meaning of dense

There appears to be a lack of focus on the criminality. The red portion of the wavelength appears to be the one that the press gravitates toward. Well done Arthur

Hi Arthur, I was wondering if you saw the NYT piece by Nicholas Kristof regarding the use of sexual violence against Palestinians. It would be worth it for you to take a look. I'd say sending smiles, but I am heartbroken after reading the article. Take care.

I’m staying far far away from that thing, especially after the Hantavirus outbreak. Such a cute poem. It’s so strange how they can squeeze through the tiniest cracks. (If you’re talking about Trump, I wish he’d just stay in Beijing.)

Reading this, I feel this is a highly metaphoric poem. You have some leader in mind whose treachery and theft, people are beginning to find out... a real mouse who eats away the cheese and is caught red handed. Well done, dear Arthur!

Well, I am not sure if this is a work about a mouse or if the mouse is a metaphor for someone or something else. A good work though. I have a sunroom/play porch type of room on my house in which they grandchildren and great grandchildren did play and now it is really not used, and I saw evidence that a mouse had visited so I set a trap. continued ..Sara K

Finis'...Well, one night a mouse fell into a sand bucket half full of water but drowned. I thought that the problem was fixed, but then I saw evidence of another one, so I reset my trap with fresh cheese and I caught another one, then another one fell into the water trap so that was three, and now, I see evidence that there is another one. I need someone to find out where they might be coming in and stop those vermin. Sara K..

Hello Arthur, the cat should take care of the mouse. I think my cat would go after a mouse. Your friend /Darlene/

Poor old mouse... Those elderly ladies might have toppled to the floor, screaming and scrambling to climb onto their chairs to get away from it—unless, of course, it happened to be one of their pets. Nice one, my friend.

Arthur, is the mouse somewhat like a certain leader in the US? Certainly, the color would suggest that. BTW, the corruption doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves. It seems like the media leans into the orange part of the spectrum. Hope you are well and sending smiles!!

The use of imagery and personification is well-executed, contributing to a lively story. The structure and flow are strong, with a logical progression of events.
