The Moon Reigns Again
The sky is heavy- thick and gray,
and darkness swirls with warring signs,
as streaks of lightning make their way
like huge electric tangled vines.
With that, the crashing thunder roars-
quick thumping hearts and shocking ears.
Unleashing stress, the full sky pours
creating floods- it perseveres.
Then, silence comes- peace is declared;
the dark clouds part to let in light.
The moon emerges, pale, prepared
to reign again this storm-filled night.
A sliver first- moon takes a stand;
its hazy glow spreads through the sky.
The war is done; dark clouds disband.
Till the next storm- moon bids goodbye.
