The Moon Is My Friend

As the sun sets I run to the door I cross the threshold and I lay on the floor Darkness lands on the Earth, it embraces my soul Then she smiles brightly above me, lighting this world on her own I spoke as if I speak to an old friend But only my poetry knows she has always been there She listen when I tell her my heart is lost in despair Then speaks advice, short but wise, from love you beware… I told her I miss the love of my life The reason I write all these verses in rhymes Hoping they reach her soul, so she can be mine Praying they do, before I run out of time I lay on the grass with a paper so light I spell every word so the moon can recite My love and my poem to my woman, my life So maybe one day she can be mine…
