For Sotto Poet's 'Best 2026' Contest . Not sure it's actually my best, but for sure it's in top ten of my personal best

The Missing Part

I wander – breath held
    through a dream’s forest
         searching in that sea of trees
for the missing part – my heart’s need
      while listening for
            your own heart’s beat

Oh, to feel your sigh’s
      sweet scent on my cheek
             and then at last -
                             to exhale
