The Mind
*THE MIND*
I know a damsel who dances to the tune of circumstances
Never believes in the power of positivity
Always quick to claim negativity
Blaming God for everything
And asking questions in her insensitivity
"Oh! Why is my case different?
Why do I have to go through this?
Why was I born poor?
Why am I so ugly?
Asking all the whys that you can think of
But who would have thought that she was the architect of her problem
She runs helter - skelter looking for solution where there is none
Unknown to her, she was the solution that she sought
And the answer her generation prayed for
"My daughter, her mother said
"Your mind is a garden, it bears the fruit you plant..
In the midst of trouble, create a mist of change
Not chaining yourself to wailing and pity
But becoming the whale of comfort to your soul
For the soul attracts a sole of beliefs it secretly harbours
Feast on optimism, don't clench a fist pessimism
For time wasted in regrets cannot be regained
Rather move with the waist of change you wish to see...
"Yes, your root might not be good, but you can become the route of transition for your generation
Generating nothing but grace and growth
Don't be too quick to improve your circumstance, but rather improve your mind-cum-stance
Cos a change of mentality is a change of reality
And a change of sense is a change of season
Be grateful always
For to be ungrateful is to be a great fool, and appreciation for one, is appreciation for more."
