The Mighty Cedar

The mighty tree leaning Into the shore Wind swept stark Some limbs totally nude In the silhouetted Hours of the night By soft full moonlight Its black outline against Cobalt Blue Water and land The distinct shape appears The shape of a Bird of Paradise The plumage full almost see a twist A twist of its head As it looks at the moon Its call is absent Imagination at work Can surely supply a simple call

Awesomwe tribute to nature, Sara! Have you ever seen a Bird of Paradise live? I remember well when a pair these birds were sitting in a Jacaranda tree near to our house in Papua New Guinea---waht a sight!!! Enjoyed the read very much...Gert
