The Mercy in Breaking

It’s best to be broken in a conscious way,
and then be taught
how to work with the aftermath of a broken heart,
than wait for life to teach you in its own ruthless way.
And no,
it’s not because we have personally screwed up.
It’s because life is relentlessly committed to our own awakening.
Relentlessly breaking us
so we can love more.

The Mercy in Breaking is an invitation to reconsider how we understand pain. Rather than seeing heartbreak as failure, this piece explores the idea that some forms of breaking are necessary, gentle interruptions that invite deeper awareness and capacity for love. It speaks to the quiet intelligence of life, which often dismantles us not to punish us, but to make room for something truer to emerge. Have you ever experienced a breaking that later revealed itself as a turning point?
