The love we share
There was a time...
I was young and trouble free
Money poured like rain...
washed all over me
Those were the days...
for doing all I could do
Those were the days...
the days when I met you
We had a life with time to spare
All we had...was the love we share
There was a time...
I thought I was invincible
Work was all that mattered
I was nearly invisible
Those were the dark days...
when we would drift apart
Those were the dark days...
when we would mend our broken hearts
No one likes to play the fool,
Sometimes destiny is cruel!
It's great to see you smile...
even if, just to hide the pain
It's been quite a while...
and no one is to blame
These are the best days...
for learning how to live
These are the best days...
to begin to forgive
What are troubled times, good for?
We learn to love a little more!
How was I to know...
that life comes to an end?
Now that everything is gone...
you are my only friend
These are the best days...
to breathe all I can breathe
These are the best days...
to confirm what I believe
When time's up, there's no time to spare!
All that's left is the love we share!
Seems to me, seasons change...
and not always for the best
When winter finally comes...
maybe now's a good time to rest
These are the best days...
for keeping bodies warm
These are the best days...
like the calm before the storm
When times up there's no time to spare,
all that's left is the love we share
