The Lost Paradise
THE LOST PARADISE
Danmaajeh:
What shall we do to put away
The gigantic barricade that blocks the way
Should we stand and say nay
Or fold our hands and enjoy the play?
Ak_waziri19:
Our paths darkening, we are going astray
The future we dream being put on delay
Our hopes dwindling day by day
Shall we just keep wallowing in this dismay?
Danmaajeh:
What is burning inside me I wish to tell
In few brief cantos if you listen well
With me is a friend, who also felt
The same flame and outstood the ail.
Ak_waziiri19:
In stanzas of rhymes that you plan to unshell
And voice out your agony in high decibel
I share this pain just like you spelt
And pray for change but to no avail.
Danmaajeh:
Quite melancholic - how the oppressed
Are denied the liberty to yield and rise
When education now seems like an impasse
What other means of progress can we ace?
Ak_waziri19:
With our rights and efforts suppressed
We become subjects of worries and distress
With our education now lousy and headless
What can we achieve under such duress?
Danmaajeh:
Our hearts tremble and our voices stutter
Private varsities could have been better
But financial capabilities differ
As poets, we express with only pen and paper.
Ak_waziri19:
Our guts down and our morale waver
For almost everything has now faltered
From bad policies to inflation that has triggered
But our pens always write for the better.
