The Lonely House
Walls shattered, roof falling apart
Dark, desolate and dreary
A haunted house with zero activity.
Very lonely indeed!
An unclaimed property
The land acquired by the city
I have seen the lonely house
Bulldozed to its death!
Where’s the soul’s house, I surmised
I heard it loud and clear: Where I sat
Trumpeting laughter and life
Spewing boundless energy!
A bench where the house once stood
An epitaph reads:
“Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me all the days of my life”
