The Little Girl Inside Wants To Play
The little girl inside wants to play
Every day. I listen.
There are many suggestions.
Anything boring is out.
Anything not fun is discarded.
Life is short.
This might be my last day.
My last hour even.
I will spend it with a child.
I am not particular which child.
Each one has a unique perspective.
Each child is delightful and insightful.
They have not been socialized yet.
They still believe in Magic.
Even the sad ones.
There is always a glimmer of hope.
I make my move trying to find a child.
To inspire me, to aspire thee….
To delight and improve me in a new way…
Depending on the one inside sometimes.
My own inner child when another child
Cannot be found in time, and I need
Joy and enthusiasm now.
Luckily, she is always willing
A whirly twirl-y child, she is my
Peter Pan self, my voice of non-reason,
My heartfelt soul essence, and she is
Always ready to play!
