The Last Leaf

I am sitting under a big tree, Full of flowers on its branches, If you can see… It’s quite old if you look at it, But not on its century… I watch the movement Of the old tree… Observing how it sways and it’s gently… I see some lovers marks on its bark… Dates as when they’ve arrived And some names that engraved on a speared heart… There are few Love notes sprayed on its body Promises that they won’t be a part… With hash tags of words on its side… “Forever, ” “I do” or “till I die” And some inscriptions are written in a glide… I doubt if all these are true… But, I think they won’t write it just out of the blue I know it came from lovers who speaks Through a big voice Inside their hearts… I wonder how this tree can bear The happiness of these lovers as they’ve shared Some memories and magical spell Of two hearts rested on it well… On a bench under the big tree I lay down my head, So I can clearly see How the leaves sway As the wind blows on my way.. My sensation really captures its motion Fill my heart with agitation I felt the emptiness as I stare at it I felt something strange within it I can sense the loneliness As the wind blows the leaves… As I watch the branches swaying I continue to gaze and wonder I know there’s something more that’s lying A deeper thing that encompasses.. Until the heavy wind whips and alter My sight caught the engraved ring like With words that struck me… And speared my heart… Where the last leaf from a twig Finally dropped… It says: “I remain loving you, Eiza FOREVER… 03-23-2015”
