The Land of Outlawed Talk

There was a Land, That passed a Law Where People, were Forbidden to Talk Oh, You could Think, Shake Hands and Wink Stand Up and Even Walk But if ever, you should open your Lips to Utter one-Sense-Syllable, or Word-Sound they would beat you down, to the Ground and drag you away… Mouth-Bound… but, Ever so Clever are People, and Poets Devised a Plan… “We Must Learn and Teach, How to Move Every Girl, Boy, Woman and Mute – Man”… “… Hold Hands Hi ! … When You Pass By… Wave and Tap Your Feet… Let Us Put Poetry in Motion … since We Can Not Speak… Lift foot and Kick, Do it Quick Kick-It-High !... (if Something is Bad) Kick-it- Low, (if You Don’t Know) And Stomp ! ( That Means You’re Mad) Let No Word Slip, Just Twist Your Hip (It Means, ‘You’re Happy Today) Or Nod Head Low… Shake It, No – No – No… (And We’ll See, What Words Cannot Say)” … Well, it was like This and That, They Made The Pact to Communicate, Nonetheless… Learning The Lingo, of Letting Talk Go Was Hard, for A Stiff-Neck But, If Ever You’re Around, This No-Talking-Town Don’t Frown, or Glare, or just Gawk… ‘Cause, in The Land Where People Don’t Talk … We All Are Just Getting-Down !...
