The Kingdom
The black squirrels and black cat watching care and caution
They arrived unexpected suddenly
The golden and white dog, silver laced lays near the door
The porch is open the sun slides in the skies
And i stand in the kitchen with the eyes of a pharaoh
Over the realm, watching protective
This uncertain kingdom
Gathered by water and nuts and canned foods
Maintaining in order to continued existence
Watching each other watching me
And purring. squeaks and low guttural sounds
Ah this kingdom pharaoh or priest, servant or guard
