Notes About The Poem

Old but still true.

The Key

The Key

I can’t be cornered, don’t try it
I’ll escape just like a rabbit;
  Scared,
    Running,
      Dodging,
        Twisting,
Thinking only of being free.

You net is useless, your ropes won’t hold.
I can’t be captured, I can’t!  I can’t!
So if you want me, leave me free;
Then I’ll come,
  And stay,
    And stay,
      And stay.
