Notes About The Poem

Red White and Blue Fireworks in the Sky · Creative Fabrica

The July 4 Sky

On Independence Day at dusk, the sky I’ll view.
The waxing gibbous moon will be a joy to see.
Then I’ll be thrilled by fireworks of red, white, and blue,
reminding me of where I am and why I’m free.

I am glad to have found your patriotic poem. I admit I always cry a little at the fireworks. I am the daughter of a Korean vet and the niece of a Vietnam vet This poem certainly deserved the award. I will share it with my father who is 86. I enjoy your poems so much and I hope to write as well as you someday.
