The Judgement Day

My Judgement Day is nigh at hand...
The outcome... far from certain.
Where some have claimed a piety...
Having peeked behind the curtain.

I've loved and lost... been tossed...
The winds of chaos at my back.
I've brokered kindness as a currency...
But still the Hounds attacked.

The slings and arrows of misfortune
Have been their own reward.
Did I rise to meet the challenge?
Will my service be ignored?

So on that day... that special day
When I answer for my deeds.
I trust the test is not too onerous
With the belief I might succeed.

But alas... I have scant information
About my future time and space.
My only hope... the question asked...
'Is the world a better place?'

                 The End

I like the question at the end. It doesn't depend on what we do except what we do with Jesus. Accepting Him as our Savior is the answer. He will take care of the rest. I enjoyed reading your work today. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara

David, you have done a beautiful job with the writing, and the conclusion is quite mind intriguing, because of the authenticity and truthfulness with which you handle the subject. Thanks for your comment on my page.

It is somewhat comforting to know no matter be we fair or foul... we all end up in the same situation. Have a great day my friend.

What to expect from the judgement of superior beings...nobody wins on judgement day, we are judged for what humans are worth. 'Did I make the world a better place?' You should enter your poem in the contest! PS is a warm and caring community.

David! this is truly beautiful! Your humility is outstanding. I wish we all had more of it. I have to make this a favorite, of course. Because of your genuineness and your sincerity. That really moves me.. I don’t care about contests David I care about a Poets soul! I see a trophy for you, when all is said, and done at the end of life. Magnificent poem really. I just die to read something like this.Thank you for being genuine, not gratuitous. thank you for simply presenting yourself. Pangie

"if Death was a bad thing... everyone wouldn't do it.' Let the chips fall where they may. Stay well my friend.
