The Innocence In Your Eyes

The innocence in your eyes.

Adversity and animosity, together were your constant companions
A heart bleeding, disillusioned by deception, and finally abandoned
Enemies betrayed you, plotting and scheming you felt so surrounded
Until the day that I met you, and rescued you with my love unbounded.

Enmity and selfishness continue masquerading in a synchronized disguise
But when I see the innocence in your eyes, I´m not fooled by all their lies
Now we´re bonded by love in a world full of corruption and despair
It warms my heart and soul just knowing that you are always there.

The more I know you, the more I see in you a childlike innocence of purity
Joined as we are, as one, we rejoice unitedly in a life of simplistic serenity
The innocence in your eyes are like a beacon of hope to sailors on stormy seas
Drawing me in ever closer with every glance, your eyes keep begging me please.

A love that´s pure, a love that´s clean, that shines brightly like the noonday sun
Defending the truth with sincere hearts beating as one ...a new day has begun.

She did love it! Overcoming adversity should make a marriage stronger, if there is true love and loyalty, it will, if not it won't. Sadly most marriages that end, it's because of selfishness and intransigence. Thanks Jan always enjoy your visits and comments.

Truly a great sonnet . " A love that´s pure, a love that´s clean, that shines brightly like the noonday sun Defending the truth with sincere hearts beating as one ...a new day has begun." ^^^ Exactly what I finally found in my third attempt at marriage. 7
