The Infinite
The infinite stares back at me
from there across a great divide,
so unimaginably wide,
so far beyond where eyes can see.
Perceive a singularity?
I cannot grasp, although I’ve tried,
the infinite.
I entertain bewildered glee
somehow to gain the other side.
To take an interstellar ride,
imagining how I can be
the infinite…
