The Infestation of Soup

I've been contemplating the tastelessness of the soup being served on site. The difference between what's sweet and sour is noticeable in every bite. It's not just the infusion of artificial intelligence that leaves the soup bitter, but poetry that's been stolen from others that stinks worse than kitty litter. Months ago it was perceived by many PS poets, that there had been an influx of so called 'poets' posting 'poetry,' but quite frankly... most of it just sucks. And then there is the returnee woman who holds contests entering her own with names who returned with her in a scam that no one should condone. There remains the do-goodies, who continue to claim they've been victimized but that story is so old that it is known as garbage and needs to be sterilized. A butcher, baker and candlestick maker, who burns his candle on both ends, still hangs around but nothing he says is believed and cannot make amends. A quill is meant for writing and not for fencing with neither parry nor thrust. Take care who you accept to be a friend for it's not always one you can trust. I've turned off commenting or the trolls will be feeding on my every word those floating in soup's toilet bowl, who should be flushed like a stinking turd. I'll also post this as a poem in the usual manner of poetry on this flawed site for those who wisely don't pay attention to blogs where bullies post smite. The soup kitchen needs a Gordon Ramsay visit to free it from rats and mice because it's been infested with toxic waste that some have labeled 'spice.'

Lin, you are a saint for trying to make the site smell better. It is too bad that people behave so poorly. It's a sure sign that there's a rampant mental illness problem that's bled over into this space. Apparently nothing is sacred. I wish the president had included funding for a remedy in the big beautiful bill. This is a much bigger problem than immigration or getting a the golden dome. We'll have nothing to show for those. Smiles!!

Sainthood is not for me, Duke. I'll simply quote Ron White and say, "You can't fix stupid."

This poem is very expressive and strikes determined targets, Lin. Cheating (AI) and stealing (plagiarism) do not go down well with me. I'm afraid I am not much up-to-date with some of the other 'points' mentioned, but I'll take your word for it. ~ Regards // paul

Hi, Paul and thank you for commenting. It's been a while since we've chatted. The points I've mentioned other than AI and plagiarism are not new but needed to be mentioned because targeting innocent poets is an ongoing problem. Too many blackguards are pretending to be the good guys. I hope you've been healthy and happy. ;-)

Thank you, Lin, for continuing this discussion on morality and decency. I've come to believe there will always be people who are willing to steal, plagiarize, plunder and loot the work of other poets and writers while using AI for their own glory. They are sad people. I pray for them as they squander the chance to feel the true joy of creating something new. I believe I can only continue to write. I am deeply grateful for your warning, your stand! Sending you blessings and my gratitude.

Thank you for commenting on this message in its poetic form and on the blog, Sam. I cannot comprehend how a plagiarizer or an AI user can possibly feel any sense of accomplishment by presenting such poetry as their own.

Blogs are often overlooked because they can become a troll’s playground. Not this one if I can prevent it. Thanks, Tania.

So glad you did this as a blog too Lin , perhaps admin will take note but for some poets its too little too late and they have already closed their accounts:-( it is a poetry site we should be deterring folk from posting poems they haven't written themselves and encourage poets to write and post REAL poetry they physically wrote themselves as for the other issues they get ignored if we complain, sad to see on so many levels Lin:-( hugs jan xx

Poets, real Poets who actually write their own poetry and post more than one every now and then need to be aware of certain things. Complaints that point out things that shouldn’t be allowed are too often ignored. You are an excellent example of a soup member who cares enough to report issues, even when they are ignored.

Well said Lin, the kitchen certainly needs fumigating top to bottom. Its certainly lost it's charm, which is a real shame, many have left because of the toxic atmosphere that's hovering over it at the moment. Tom
