The Hush Within Summer's End

the day rose solemn
much like my mood
as i listened
to the hush
that fell
within daybreak

amber dawn
splashed against
half ebony skies
as fades of crimson
mingled in
yet no birds
spanned
the horizon

no melodies
unfolded
just quivers
of soft breezes
fell from misty
breaths in
late august morn

i watched the scant
flowers bow down
beneath the weight
of fallen dew
struggling
to stand their ground

the magenta
and amethyst shades
fading fast
to dull umber hues

i sipped my coffee
stirring in my thoughts
wishing within its warmth
that summer could linger
just a little bit longer

Simply beautiful. Your enchanting work touches the sense and causes the reader to sigh as they read.
