The Heat Is On
Hello my fellow Earthlings
I hope you're feeling fine
I'd like your full attention
To say what's on my mind
I just want this understood
No matter what it takes
Our clock is ticking down
While we make the same mistakes
The warning bells are ringing
But still we've missed the calling
The temperature is rising
While humanity is falling
We've been given everything
To ensure complete success
A planet rich with beauty
But we've really made a mess
We keep burning coal and oil
And it's floating in the air
The signs are all around us
But nobody seems to care
The companies that sell it
Are just out to make a buck
And even when they spill it
Won't help to clear the muck
If we want a better future
For all our sons and daughters
Let's stop the air pollution
And poisoning our waters
Even though the wounds are deep
There's still time to mend our scars
We have to work together
Or we'll end up just like Mars
