The Heart of Poetry

I think at times I am unfair with poetry, wanting perfection I am not -- wanting poetry to clarify, purify...as though poetry were independent from its source alas, poetry is only worthy as its loss.

And yet, without reaching for perfection, the very blood drains from our arteries and veins.

That's how we can tell we are being spiritually truthful, living words, that pulse, sweat and drain. Nothing special comes without total commitment. Perfection does not exist...who would want it? The human psyche and soul would never be satisfied with perfection, a barrier one can't pass and go beyond. Boy can I shovel it when I get started. Thank you, Gershon. Blessings.

I enjoyed reading your wonderful "The Heart of Poetry" write. I feel if the writer writes from their heart then it will be a great write. It is up to the reader to say, how good it was to read. What one person loves another will hate. Have a blessed/wonderful day writing away.............

I agree, Paula; write from the heart, what the heart dictates -- everything else will fall into place. Thank you, my friend.

We are only good as what we don't have or fail to develop. Thank you, Joe. Have a great day!

Poetry from the human heart will always be beautifully imperfect, as it should be. Wishing you the best Joe
