The Heart of a Stream

Born, far aloft on highest peak, of glaze caressed by golden glow, through ancient sculpted rock she seeks fair journey forth to glens below. Cool innocence; a virgin stream unfurls her charm at leisured pace; a bracken shaded lover’s dream meanders on with gentle grace. O’er highland slopes she carves her name and tastes the salt of weathered stone, warm rippled sun depicts a flame; a yearning ne'er to drift alone. With dreams of zest her ethos sways, high spirits disenthrone her calm; away from purity she strays toward the thrill of ocean’s charm. Exuberance invites a ride upon his wild and briny sea, midst turbulence and swelling tide she yields to anonymity.

This flows as smoothly as any sylvan stream. Good rhythm and good, poetic language. A fine poem.

ps Forgot to say, yes, footles are great fun. I really preccupied myself with them on that long ride a few weeks ago. They might have a contest here on them again sometime! brian did a contest for spring footles a long time ago! Intersting what you told me about that program on tv!

YOu know what, this reminds me of a sonnet I did about a stream turning into a river and then to the sea!! I think I might even have it posted here. I love how you write with forms the way I enjoy doing myself. It's just Margaret, the only other one I've met here that enjoys forms as much as you and I do! This was SO NICE to read, flowing just like the stream. LUv, Andrea
