Notes About The Poem

6/19/2026

For the contest, "A Bird Haiku Set of Two," by Tania Kitchin

the hawk, hawk

       the hawk

raptor sometimes called
black death or stealthy fighter
hawk owns names proudly

             hawk

hawk soars above clouds
then dives fearlessly toward prey
clever is the hawk

They are incredible! I've watched two of them searching the skies. When they see a prey, they dive so quickly. I bring my dogs in when I see them in the sky.

You chose a very incredible bird. I saw one once in Kentucky pretty close up. So impressive. A heads up. I think the sponsor wants the title in small letters . No capitalization
