The Halls of Deception

In shadows deep, they weave their cunning guise
With silver words and false, beguiling eyes
Their smiles, a mask, concealing hidden schemes
Deceptive hearts, where selfish ego secrets scream

A puppeteer of trust and empathy
Beware the charm that hides a wicked plan
For in their web, they will steal your soul

Let wisdom's light can pierce deceit's dark veil
Expose the lies, and truth at last shall prevail

Shine the light, on the darkness of silent beasts

Ah, the proverbial snake oil salesmen. It’s good to avoid them whenever possible

A powerful write with a great ending. Deception is everywhere. One can only have truth with truthful people. Everyone had rather lie. So Sad...  Have a wonderful/blessed~~day/weekend....................

Quite topical on Soup. Deceptive poets can ravage a poetry community quickly. Stand firm for site integrity. :o)

"Shine the light, on the darkness of silent beasts" Aysha , your poetry expresses that which needs to be heard from the demeaners. One doesn't believe until they personally have the mean-spirited come at them. I wish you well and safe from poisoned pens! ~Anaya

The world is full of narcissists and so called puppet masters... in a patriarchal world sadly the female is targeted too much.. great poem

I know so many puppeteers of truth and empathy, they preach what they refuse to practice and yes, eventually truth comes out, no evil stays hidden for too long. Beware of rosy lips and smiles, theres thorns and thistles beneath them, not every sweet smile wishes you well. Loved reading this. Nice to meet u

Is always nice when you know others can relate to your own feelings and emotions.

A deep poem that exposes the evil that men do. Yet, as you wrote, truth shall prevail and win the ultimate battle. Great muse.
