The Guitar Man and the Girl

His voice was honest and raw,
He wasn't just some guy,
Each time he sang that song,
He made the whole room cry.
A few familiar faces,
Scattered amongst the crowd,
Her face he would always find,
Through the smoky cloud.
He knew why she was there,
She succumbed to his soulful words,
She looked like she was flying,
Soaring with the birds.
She wasn't just some groupie,
He had fallen for her shy smile,
For her innocence and tenderness,
He would walk that extra mile.
So with love in his heart,
His guitar in his hand,
He sang the song to her,
His passion was his command.
He didn't have to tell her,
He knew she understood,
His voice was honest and raw,
As he sang to her, "you're in my blood".
