The Guilt Is Not Yours

She claims he drove too fast; He says she was too careless. But the damage is already done, And their only son is long dead! Nothing truly is more hurtful Than losing an only child; But still you need to take the time To hear the last part of the tale. And right between you he stands, Only that you cannot see him— Telling you that it was all his fault: He loosed the belt before the crash! Yet for ten years you have cried, And have held on to the blame: Two souls which once upon a time Were knitted together in love. His death indeed is a huge loss Which can never be repaired; But you have to let the past behind Because the guilt is not yours. For right between you he stands, Only that you cannot see him— Telling you that it was all his fault: He loosed the belt before the crash! To: Every distressed marriage as a result of a lost child. Sometimes you really need to take the time to fit the pieces of the puzzle. If it is not your fault, then the guilt should not be yours.
