The Great Alfonso

The Great Alfonzo

He read my poem. He popped me in the nose. He bruised my noggin. He made me bleed. What the hey!
Must be one of those guys. Likes his beer. Likes his football, basketball and talk of the women he’s had and the war he’s fought in. But damn, I trusted him with my poem.

Boy was I wrong. He’s the Great Alfonso. He’s the best poet of the age. Like Academy Award poet or Nobel Prize Poet. That explains it, I guess. BUT… why did he pop me in the nose?

I’ve got it now. It was a Tom Hanks in public thing. He just wanted to get away. He wanted to have his anonymity. And here comes this poet. Hounding him. That must be it.

I’m the Great Alfonso. I didn’t like this guy. He reminded me of Eddie.
