The Gods of Summer

I looked through all my words
and oh, how absurd
I couldn't find a single one
about Summertime!

The time of Amon and Ai is coming you know,
even though I have mixed feelings
about skin peelings
and heat to take a breath away.

Summertime is for children
to splash and run in bare feet.
In the fall/winter of my life
I creak about in bones
that welcome warmth but not heat.

Horae turns the seasons
(without my permission)
while in Spring I long to stay,
so I wait in awe of the god's decision
to roast me come what may.
