The Gent Who Waited At the Gate

I asked him why at my house he had stopped. He answered me, "I have some time to wait, and here I'll stay until the sun has dropped!" All day in summer's sun, nearby the gate, he patiently awaited my dear sister, and now I shall reveal to you his fate. Evening came, and then to meet that mister came she who'd kept the poor gent waiting long. I saw through parted blinds her caller kissed her. . . Endurance served him well. I'd reckoned wrong!

An excellent write on this form Andrea. Been so darn busy that I don't know if my head is on right. Tired and in need of a week off but Aaron is teething and not in a great mood. Oh well they grow up fast anyway and grandkids have grandma's heart. love phyl

This was quite an interesting poem. I had to read it a few times, before I understood. It must be an "old man" thing. I wish you well in the contest.
