The Follies of Man
Beware of Satan, for He's a cunning
trickster, well-versed in tactics of deceit.
But alas, these words fall upon deaf ears,
for sin's addition is tough to defeat.
Blind to the truth, some believe there's no light
and thus are lost to the dark forever.
Admiring their image in the mirror,
they view themselves as learned and clever.
The game goes on; meanwhile, the Devil smiles
with contentment at the follies of Man.
And navigating the dark corridors
of your mind, Evil plots its master plan.
When you recognize what is happening,
you look to God for a different path.
But prayers are laced with melancholy thoughts,
beseeching His mercy; you fear His wrath.
When seeking God's unconditional love,
you should approach repentant and humble.
And when you detest sin for what it is,
its fractured facade begins to crumble.
The Son of God was scourged and crucified,
and yet, He miraculously arose.
A sacrificial lamb, He cleansed our sins
and fulfilled the role God, His father, chose.
