The Fobble - Nonsense Poetry

a fobble saw he had a horn
he asked could I be a unicorn?

but then he saw a long trunk nose
an elephant? perhaps, I suppose

but then he saw his neck was long
a giraffe? although I could be wrong

but then he saw he was orange and green
I’m the strangest colour I’ve ever seen

but then he saw a bushy tail
a fox? a squirrel? and then exhale

as the fobble sighed and sighed again
what could I be, what is my name?

then someone said
you’re a fobble for sure

I’m a fobble?
couldn’t you have told me this before!
