Notes About The Poem

The Flame of Life - With Darren White

Take me down to the stillness
     only love can bring
give me light in this darkness
     so I can see
lift my chin, touch the baby hair
     on my skin
illuminate my being
     let me live again

light the wick that doused in silt
     rebuild us for this night
curl my mouth to crescent smile
     under moon's fragile fold

treasured moments, the rarest of gems
     in kaleidoscopic dreams,
together we blend
     stillness once known
now stirs under our touch

life’s veil flickers
    as we catch a glimpse
then flees unbridled
   a bird released

Two skillful pens, one masterful result. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

Good Morning Gentlemen (white wolf and darren) I will forever be a free verse girl and you both do this entry and free verse proud. I was drawn to the tone and voice not to mention the emotive factor. This is an entry to be read out loud. Marvelous work. May this day find you both well. PS - Hello Penguin
