The Finish Line
You”ll regret what you missed out of fear,
trapped by the ghost of a do over;
When you’re calm and your vision is clear
it will eat at you under cover;
I’ll fill you with the sweetest perfume
a phantom as you slowly inhale:
My laugh will haunt the song in the room
leading with it’s melodious trail;
In broken lyrics you’ll see my face
until you wonder if it’s a sign;
Now I’m the fire that you always chase,
never quite reaching the finish line.
