The Field
Today, I was in the middle of a field
To my right, you
To my left, them with their breath of fire
Embers sparking around me
Today, I found myself questioning trust
Standing in the middle of a field
Flares surrounding me
Cinders dancing in the wind
Today, I felt confused
Bound in the middle of a field
Not knowing which way to go
Deceived by the ash’s revelry
Today, the flames were blinding
Was it’s purpose served
I just want to reach for you
But I am lost in the middle of a field
