Summer is now fading and fall draws near Chill in the morning and last thing at night Leaves are dying out they'll soon disappear Before they go we'll see colours delight. Fall paints a canvas of blues, reds and gold As late fall comes they'll be all blown away By strong northerly gusts biting and cold The low lying sun will shorten our day. All the trees now take on an eerie scene Skeletal limbs that look spooky at night Kids trick or treat celebrate Halloween Wear scary ghoul outfits in the moonlight. The fall takes a bow it's now time to go Winter marches in with frost, ice and snow. Written 25th August 2020.

Vividly descriptive, lovely poem, Tom. Mid-fall is my favorite time of the year, nature-wise. Janice

Each season delights us. We are so ready for Fall with hopes that Fall will burn out covid. Hoping to see only Halloweenie masks. If businesses making money on virus masks would crash and all the rest come back as a smashing success oh how delightful.

G'day Tom ... yes autumn is truly the calming season, and we're about to enter the volatile season; spring. Already had one almighty wind/rain storm. A really nice sonnet Tom that truly depicts autumn - thank you Tom - Lindsay

- A beautiful poem, Tom :) - Although I do not like to admit it ... but autumn has come ... wish it was as beautiful as you describe - But autumn is wet and cold ... withered leaves that turn brown and sticky ... the night gets dark and long - I'm never ready for autumn - Have a wonderful weekend :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Thank you Anne, I do like autumn but not the rain that comes with it. Autumn colours are amazing especially when you get a nice dry day to appreciate them, hope you too have a nice weekend. Tom
