THE F---WORD

Seems like certain politicos toss about the f---word thinking they're cute! Didn't their mommies teach them that real ladies and gents of good repute, Don't express themselves in public in such a disgraceful manner and so crudely? "Profanity is the effort of a feeble brain to express itself lewdly!"

Kudos Bod for your final comment here, i have noticed that not commenting is a new spirt here. Also, too uch negativity at PS at was once were valuable life lessons, the LEFT seems overjoyed with destroying the character of anyone of a conservattive set of values. But will vfoll W the miilionatre Commubnist in the senate, who talks like Mr. Poor.?? Thank, Jan. I hadn't heard about Vance using vile words - shame on him. I recall when the movie Gone With The Wind came out and Clark Gable used the term, "I don't give a damn and the world was shocked! I guess we've gone down-hill from there - ha!

I may hint at a word but not use it on soup, sadly now I can walk along the high street and hear some school kids use it as part of everyday speech - i do swear occasionally but its only when no other word will do lol! hugs jan xx

I was appalled to learn J D Vance had used the s word in Greenland - not exactly the best way to try and make friends with those who trumpety wants to rule over if he can get his way!

Congratulations on your POTD win. I was 18 years old. My mom tried knocking my head of my shoulders. I went down to the floor. When I came up, I ask why did she do that??? She said, I used the word "dam" and she would not have that. I still say, I did not say dam. She had to have heard me wrong. Enjoy your wonderful day with your win.........

It’s really difficult for people to to know the difference between what is right and wrong in this culture, their parents can only raise them through the lens of culture and values they know which are piss poor from what I see….Don’t forget where the people came from and just really think for just a second and if you’re honest to yourself it will come to you…

I think the use of this particular word acts like a veil lifting. Some use it (say Billy Connolly - Scottish comedian) and it feels natural and charming, others use it and it's got all the spice of a great conversation, it can be funny, exciting, exhilarating... However in the hands of someone trying to impress or distress, you just see them for who they are. In all their offensive, revolting faux glory. Personally I don't swear and usually feel intimidated by it. Great thought provoking POTD.

Must admit I typically use colourful sentence enhancers especially when dealing with idiots (which is a lot). But you’re right, Bob, the weaponisation and demonisation of political rhetoric is a reflection of a growing intolerance in an age that forgot its manners. I could write a thesis on why I think that is but f- -it (forget it that is). Instead let me just congratulate you on your POTD honour.

A well done poem for today. I appreciate the topic. I hate to burst your bubble but profanity and politics go hand and hand. It is seen on a small scale in public but however behind closed doors it is common. It isn’t like you would hear it all day long or everyone one does it. It is just a way we communicate.
