The Eyes Have It-Dukes Dilemma

If I were you, I wouldn’t walk there
                         Not there, behind the couch
Oh brother, it’s too late isn’t it?
Is your sock wet? I really had to go!
And the door was locked
         and you were taking a nap and well…
Don’t be mad,
Look into my eyes - you KNOW I’m sorry
Yes, that’s right,
            look deeply into my big brown eyes

And while I have your attention,
                              Please, please, oh please
Don’t look at the socks you wore yesterday

I was so nervous while you were out
            Yes, that’s it, really, really nervous!
And they were here and you weren’t and…

Keep looking – look into my eyes
                              My very sad brown eyes

And one more thing,
                      besides I love, love, love you

You didn’t really mean it about withholding
                                         my treats, did you?
You know, because of the lawn,
           I had to save a bone for winter, right!      

Great! Now that we’ve cleared that up,
I’m gonna let you go, my eyes are tired and
I need a nap.
