The Eye of the Storm

Intrepid winds once.... Whispering serenities promises Into the chambers of ones soul? Watching these invisible wings, now Carrying their dreams but far away While reaching out to touch the hand Of echoing breezes illusive embrace To grasp the intangible things Through bars of molten steel Embedded and fused, into glass sharded concrete Brushing past their amissful fingertips Muddled visions of what could have been But, what shall never be.... Piercing their eyes, these hurricanes of time Tornadoes spawning, the devestation of a life Cast into the medieval dungeon, of darkness' hell As the waves crash violently upon the shore Waiting for The Flying Dutchman to arrive Driven by the gales, of tomorrows foreboding Shackled in chains, fettered, by the skeletal crew.... The rogue, that shall lead them away forever These the deaf, that could not hear serenities promise Once whispered unto them, amid the intrepid winds Transient storms, now carrying their souls afar Beyond the rainbows, that melted in the sky Beneath these scorching gusts, that blinded their sight While they wasted their time within opticals Reaching through verticals, thorn laced bars Grasping at nothing, but the intangible tide Breezes of ideos, that could have never saved their lives Now, entering the shadows of eternities solemn door Through.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Eye of The Storm!

Dear John, In this work I hear many "whispers" of the wind that work their magic in many ways, some good, some destructive. I would llike to harness wind power as an alternative energy source. After all, that's what brought Columbus to America. He didn't need petrolium. Thought provoking, excellent work again! Carolyn

With this write, I imagine a pirate ship lost at sea battling to keep the ship afloat while in the eye of a storm. The eye of the storm seems to be an evil place to be. Very good write John.

Hey John! I'm probably going to muff this up, but this makes me think of 'Alcatraz'? "Reaching through verticals, thorn laced bars"...perhaps like a prison cell? There they might have been, "Grasping at nothing, but the intagible tide". Anyhow, this is extremely well written. Profound imagery that sets an intensly eerie scene. This feel barren, and rocky. Anyhow, wishing the best to you, John! God bless, and may your New Year be bright and cheerful! Love to you, Mikki

Dear John - A breathtaking write, indeed! You bring the reader into the eye of your emotions and detailed imagery. Reading each line, made me feel as if I was experiencing the storm itself. You must enter this masterwork into Christie Moses contest: The Many Voices of the Wind. This is superb writing that demands to be noticed and inhaled. Peace always, John

Wow, I had to read it twice to fully grasp the metaphor....very deep and unusual personification.:) I remember once, as a girl, going through a hurricane, and was deceived in the middle of the eye--thinking the storm was over, lol. Love, Sara

This is amazing John, but then again your writes offer so much and always take my thoughts to a deeper level. I saw the flying Dutchman and it made me think of a basketball player who went by that name a few years ago. Grasping at nothing..book of Eccelesitics(sp)...Solomon wrote about chasing after the wind and how it is all meaningless..we are chasing after many things that will eventually burn and the only thing that really matters is the condition of the heart..thanks for the awesome comment
