The Essence Of Song

A poet is a musician The instrument he/she plays are words The heart of a musician is the essence of song So when Lord Alfred Tennyson defined Poetry as “the rhythmical creation of beauty” He felt, he heard, he composed the internal song Presenting sound and content In a style of it’s own Creating mood inspiring a view Painting a phrase a cliche or two It is music in the mind’s ear Best poems are timeless text is clear Be they transformed by languages years Great poems live on External life’s future peers

Each poem is a song composed in the heart, sung and enjoyed within. Though none can hear it outside, its rhythmic verse titillates the poet's mind. It is like a motif or painting done by a maestro artist. It lives on timeless, inspiring generations. Beautiful poem dear Karen.

This is so true. Sometimes, poems literally present themselves as a song in our hearts, and even if they are not accompanied by a tune, they are like a song of the poets soul!

Dear Karen, I love reading your poetry and this one beautifully captures the symbiotic relationship between poetry and music. Through eloquent verses, you convey how poets, like musicians, craft melodies with words, creating timeless pieces that span generations. Your exploration of poetry as a rhythmic creation of beauty is insightful and poetic. Karen, this is an exquisite piece that celebrates the enduring power of poetic expression. - Blessings, Daniel

I really like this one Karen. You really capture the essence of the Lord Alfred Tennyson quote. It's really cool how you put three "he..." in one line: "He felt, he heard, he composed the internal song" Cheers!
