The End Is Near
The End is Near
By Elton Camp
Hurricane Irene had done all type of harm
What he saw gave a man extreme alarm
People passing, he really wanted to save
So with a sign at the road, a warning gave
He yelled, “Know now that the end is near.
Turn around and then you needn’t fear.”
A driver honked and gave an ugly sneer
“Man, a nut like you I sure won’t hear.”
And the curve he accelerated right around
The man then heard a loud splashing sound
The effectiveness of his sign he began to doubt
“Maybe I should have just written, “Bridge out.”
