Notes About The Poem

The post-NATO press conference got some better reviews. However, Joe did not summarize his points very well. We need a better salesman to trounce D.T. Why not have an open convention with candidate forums during the next month? That would develop a lot of good publicity and inspire confidence.

the elite view

As Joe’s voice sours and may fade 
A candidate parade and trade
Could upgrade our choice!
We'll sweetly rejoice
If lemons become lemonade

I don't think it is lemonade yet. LOL..I don't think there is a chance of lemonade as it stands right now. I hope whoever goes into office will do better for the next four years. While Trump was in office, the law or bill or whatever it was about helping lower the cost of meds was signed and enacted and now Kamala Harris is trying to take credit for it. Amazing..Sara K

Sara, Please go online and read a variety of news articles about the executive orders D.T. issued regarding drug pricing. It apparently didn't do much of anything except allow for boasting. The legislation signed by Biden in 2022 (Inflation Reduction Act) actually did lower the cost of drugs paid by medicare. Executive orders are very limited in scope and can't go against existing law. Biden worked with Congress and actually changed the law that affected pricing. There is no question that a lot of misinformation is being proffered by certain media outlets and even Russian bots, which is why I suggest looking at the reputation and quality of any sources.

It was time for him to go. The Wall Street Journal was reporting his decline for a long time, and it turns out they were correct in their analysis. The administration was in denial and selfish in this case. I had previously described the choice as cadaver vs monster. Sounds like a science fiction movie, but it's real life....OMG!!!!

Yes unfortunately Joe Biden is too old to function as a President now although he has done a lot of good during the period he was President. Lets see how Pamela Harris does though she must do something about her image as well, the thing also is that under two months is no time to win an election . Lovely poem congrats again. Jennifer, yes Biden and his inner staff tried to hide his condition, which was being written about in the press. It would have been better if he stepped aside earlier and allowed an open primary process to occur. Be that as it may, we are stuck with the process we have now. Kamala appears to be capable and telegenic, so we do have a shot to defeat D.T. We'll certainly see. Trump would never step aside...and he has signs of age-related issues as well. Kamala may attract a lot of young voters.

Robert, I am much more optimistic than I have been for some time. The pieces seem to be falling into place for a reasonable effort and interesting election season. I like turning the tables on DT, since he is now the out of touch demented old man.

Jan, at least we have a replacement for JB. I don't think DT will have the humility to step aside despite the fact that he is the oldest person running for president ever, and he has signs of cognitive impairment. This will be an interesting turn of events.

Thanks Nette, I am struck by how each candidate says (in effect) they are the only one who can do the job. J.B. says he is the only one to finish the job he started. The pride and arrogance of these two men boggles the mind of ordinary people who know when to pass the torch and who know that doing so upholds a wonderful tradition. They are each tragic characters who could envelop us in disaster.
