The Double Secret

"The Double Secret"
I am skin and bone wrapped tightly around an immaculate heart that’s hidden but known to a fierce soul Human daughter, sprinkled with holy water Wherever there is Love Inside you, there is the Light to guide Love Home a lost journey through Dante’s Hell now gone Prison walls dissolve, He walks towards her and says, "Wherever there is Love Inside you, there is the Light to guide Love Home" Freedom is the token, Petronilla calls Home There the Light shines, it’s Always on Heaven’s Gate burns bright inside your soul The Unforgiven, sees for once he has the light I am skin and bone wrapped tightly around an immaculate heart that’s hidden but known to a fierce soul The Double Secret unfolds (LadyLabyrinth/2019) gvlm/scm 1 Peter 1

“Extraordinary things are always hiding in places people never think to look.” “There's always going to be bad stuff out there. But here's the amazing thing -- light trumps darkness, every time. You stick a candle into the dark, but you can't stick the dark into the light.” “If you spent your life concentrating on what everyone else thought of you, would you forget who you really were? What if the face you showed the world turned out to be a mask... with nothing beneath it?” “Love is not an equation, it is not a contract, and it is not a happy ending. Love is the slate under the chalk, the ground that buildings rise, and the oxygen in the air. It is the place you come back to, no matter where you're headed” (Jodi Picoult)

Lady Labyrinth, I like this poem especially the refrain 'Wherever there is Love Inside you, there is the Light to guide Love Home'. Well written and goes straight for the heart. -Richard

Thanks Quoth The Raven. It actually comes from a place of darkness, like a small ember starts a bushfire in a dark inked out blue night, that kind of Light.

When ones path finally becomes too dark to walk without stumbling and falling down, the answer is to seek the Light. If truly called for, it never fails to appear and forgive the temporary lapse in judgment. It never fails in its healing of those that truly seek.. All things yield to the Trinity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit...

There will always be dark paths Lindley, that's what makes life the rich and raw tapestry it is...as you well know; as always, your writing/talent phenomenally comes from the dark and there is your Light.

Books and stories that contain mystery + LOVE, are exceptionally powerful magic mojo bags Arturo. There's lots of mystery in Poetry Soup (this book of many pages and unfurling stories). I read extensively, the stories here in PS and outside of it's confines. There is a lot of magic and power in the Poetry Soup pages, but not as much as The Bible for example, and the other religious tomes I've been reading. Everyone is on their own journey writing their own story. The plot thickens ... or thins... depending on how much you want the Light. Without darkness there is no Light. x

Wow! This is a powerfully written poem that is a tribute to a warrior's heart, and the poetess behind the poem! Love it!

Sometimes Krutsinger, it's like automatic writing. Like, where did the words come from? :) x

Sooner or later Monsieur Parker, we all meet the Light within. Each to their own journey. Some say God is in the music. x

Where there is light, there is no darkness. We need to always keep a light on so we can find our way home. Too many people have turned their light off.

True. Some people need to walk their own roads first to work it all out. Thanks Paula.
