The Disguise

I tell myself that you are here. Beside me, whispering in my ear. Blocking the way for what I fear. And holding my hand to keep me near. I tell myself that your sweet lips Carry a tune that makes me trip. And your soft warm fingertips, Stroke the shape of an ellipse. My eyes have been kept closed. The thought of stopping I oppose. You are precious like a rose. And I don't want to lose you, no. But I open my eyes. I don't know why. I see it was a big disguise. And then I begin to cry.
