The Devil's Will
He will come to call
if you neglect your P's and Q's,
if you dabble in the black arts,
or forget to pay your dues.
He'll be less than optimistic
if you ply a wicked trade,
yours or someone else's
'til the debt to sin is paid.
Criminals, malingerers,
and those with crooked hearts
will wriggle through the sacraments,
upset the apple carts.
He'll paint you in the darkest light
and make you wear a hood,
play with your insecurities
and sway you from the Good.
Don't compromise your spirit
or confront the devil's will,
remember he is waiting
for your common sense to spill.
