The Devil Welcomes You
Alone I sat quiet quiet as a mouse
In the shrieking creaks of my old and broken house
Watching shadows warp and twist and turn upon the wall
Hearing haunting howls howling begging screams for more
“lies don’t suit our fretful baby
Masks of white turning redder lately
Keep it hush hush quiet darling we’ll do your deeds for fun
For blood is blood and bone is bone when the devil welcomes one”
One down one down settling unease
Secrets held with chains of gold never to be released
Shovels dig and toss and dig and earth itself uncovers
Shades give way to darker depths and strengthen other lovers
“Lies don’t suit our fretful baby
Masks of white turning redder lately
Keep it hush hush darling and we’ll do your deeds for you
For blood is blood and bone is bone when the devil welcomes two”
Two down two down settling into ease
Feverish eyes try not to see fiendish deep set pleas
The sun comes out revealing night, the star caught in the red
The sun itself at least already seems to have been bled
“Lies don’t suit our fretful baby
Masks of white turning redder lately
Keep it hush hush darling and we’ll all contain our screams
For blood is blood and bone is bone when the devil welcomes three”
Three down three down solitary peace
Peaceful souls on fire in the heat of their disease
Starlight too shows light in flooding, every light revealed
Light switches broken eyes are blinded and fates are easily sealed
“Lies don’t suit our fretful baby
Masks of white turning redder lately
Keep it hush hush darling and we’ll keep you steady too
Four bones are gold and blood is bled when the devil welcomes you.”
